Volunteering

Hettys originally started as a voluntary organisation in 1996, by a small group of mums who themselves had suffered the pain and heartache of being affected by a loved ones drug misuse. Through their passion and determination to support others in situations similar to themselves, Hettys has grown into the unique organisation it is today.
People volunteer for many reasons. Some of our previous and existing volunteers have at one time or another have been clients of the service themselves, and can gain great satisfaction from putting this experience and knowledge to good use by donating there time to our cause. Others, students and young people particularly volunteer to gain the work experience and skills they need to help them get a job or further their career development….
Opportunities for Volunteers to get involved in:
Networking in the local community
Leafleting
Office work- general admin, filing, shredding, mail outs
Tea and coffee making
Supporting staff at community events, stands etc
Supporting group workers
Helping with presentations in the community
Telephone help-line work
Supporting in one to one sessions in peoples homes
